What is Common Language?

Print Friendly

The ESCs proposed that CSCOPE would create “Common Language” throughout the Texas Education system.

Common Language means that every grade/subject teachers across the state are teaching the same content within the same time period.

The following video was produced by ECISD (Ector County ISD) explaining that with common language students within the school district could move from one school to another. With CSCOPE in every Texas School, the same thing could occur.

For Common Language to be effective, every student has to be on the same education level. Since CSCOPE is a one-size-fits all program, there it is up to each teacher to stay on the time schedule yet differentiate lessons for each student’s abilities.

Other information about CSCOPE is shown on the video. Since this video was produced before the content of CSCOPE was made public, some of the information represents the original purposes of CSCOPE.
