If You don’t do anything you can’t do anything wrong!Commissioner Williams

Is this the motto of Texas Commissioner of Education, Michael Williams?

Texas Governor Rick Perry appointed former Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams as the State Commissioner of Education, and Lizzette Gonzalez Reynolds as chief deputy commissioner.

Most were concerned that Williams was not qualified for the position of commissioner of education. What does Williams know about the educational system?

I didn’t know Michael Williams but was and still am dissatisfied with the lack of leadership of many Texas Administrators. I thought Williams should be given a chance. But, I have changed my mind. Where was the commissioner during the senate education committee hearings on CSCOPE? Why hasn’t he come forward about the STAAR/EOC tests that have errors?

Governor Perry said, “High standards and accountable public schools are essential to our state’s future success, and no two people understand that better than Michael and Lizzette.” The duo will lead the Texas Education Agency, and oversee the state’s 1,200 school districts. WHERE ARE THESE TWO? WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO IMPROVE TEXAS EDUCATION?

Commissioner Michael Williams’ action to make the 20 ESCs more accountable was to have the directors of the 20 ESCs to help him write the governing rules for the ESCs.WHAT!

THE ESCs ARE NOT BEING MADE TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THEY RECEIVE EACH YEAR TO ASSIST SCHOOLS. WHERE IS THE Rider 42 $200 MILLION DOLLARS of Grant money?

I’ve sent Commissioner Williams copies of errors on the 5th grade 2013 STAAR test, I’ve sent him copies of the plagiarized science information in the ESCs CSCOPE lessons, etc………………………. Within seconds of emailing information to the commissioner the response shown above was received.

Why did Governor Perry appoint Michael Williams to be the Texas Commissioner of Education?

It appears that Williams is keeping a low profile.  You can’t make any mistakes if you do nothing. Being the Texas Commissioner will be another professional accomplishment for Williams. But he seems not to have accomplished anything in regards to improving Texas Education.

While Perry is pursuing bigger goals and Williams is just bidding his time, Texas Education is going through a fast decline.

When voting for the Texas governor, remember that it is the governor who appoints the Texas Commissioner of Education. Texas needs a commissioner of education who is not feathering his nest with awards and professional accomplishments. In fact, Texas needs someone willing to stand up for the education of Texas children at all costs.
