In Texas CSCOPE High Schools Students study about communism and socialism and then create a new flag for a new socialist Nation–
Is the US to be the new socialist nation? Via Common Core Standards, Obama is teaching our children how wonderful socialism is and that communism is even better.
CSCOPE is the prelude to having the Obama Common Core Standards in our schools. Via our Texas School Superintendents, who are studying how to implement Common Core, our state Education services centers are setting in place the perfect technology framework called CSCOPE.
Following are the instruction from the CSCOPE activity directing students to design a socialist/communist flag.

C-scope has NOTHING to do with President Obama. C-scope was around for YEARS before anyone heard of him. C-scope is just a lousy assortment of lessons put together by teachers who may not have been in the classroom in years, as a plan to save the regional service centers. You are correct that President Obama may not have initiated CSCOPE, but it his education director, Linda Darling Hammond is listed as one of the CSCOPE professional developers. Hammond promotes the OBAMA progressive teaching philosophy in the Federal Common Core program developed by Hammond, which was a dismal failure in the California schools Hammond piloted it in. But, maybe failure of schools is what Hammond was looking for. Please, know that CSCOPE is so much more than bad lessons. CSCOPE is a framework connecting school districts. The plan is to connect all Texas schools so that the content of instruction is controlled by one source. The transparency of CSCOPE instruction material is enough to alarm any parent. No matter what the CSCOPE directors say today, tomorrow with control of school instruction content they control what your children learn.

Sharon is correct that Obama did not start it but it has been putting into motion the ideology of what he is all about. This started many years ago and it will probably several more years before the entire plan takes affect. Sharon, you have to remember Obama stated that he was going to fundamentally change America and I sincerely believe this is part of it. As far as parents not seeing this I would imagine it is really hard to see what the program is all about when the truth behind it is no being told. Or could it be that some parents don’t care? Obama will not be able to change everything with the snap of a finger but he could do so much damage that we may never recover and our nation could fall from within. If we truly cared about our kids and want the U.S. to continue to be a great nation based upon the founding principles we can’t let this continue.

Can we talk about Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Algeria, Syria, and Obama’s open support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt? Tell me how Obama has helped AMERICA on any of these fronts! Let me pose it another way – what would happen if we didn’t have standards, PERIOD? Yahoos who call conspiracy at Obama for everything he does wouldn’t be able to cry about it in a public forum because there wouldn’t be a way for your browser, let alone your computer, to communicate. You wouldn’t be able to watch a DVD in just about any DVD player. ODF would not be a commonly supported document container format. XML would not exist as a method to transfer information back and forth between two disparate computer systems. You wouldn’t be able to enjoy MP3 audio. 2 + 2 would equal 5.
Standards AREN’T “bad” and should be embraced. And CSCOPE doesn’t even stand for anything, despite the “acronym sounding name.”
It also seems that the only people who really hate this idea seem to be the Christian or “conservative” (I use the term loosely because most conservatives aren’t even close) right or so-called “libertarians”.
If you want to be able to simply “do as you want” without anyone telling you how things need to be in order to make us a great nation again, move to an uncharted piece of land and let the more advanced civilization move forward. The standards you cite above are nearly all private, free market standards and solutions. Standards by government decree rarely are the best or most efficient solution.
I was unaware of this objective in C-Scope, but I wasn’t pleased with this scope and sequence of curriculum when I used it for math in middle school. Pay attention, as there are many changes coming in our schools.

Well imagine that, it turnes out that this was for a high school class not 6ht grade and lawsy me! they were required to study and work on 3 other flags including one for the USA and 2 others. I think that it would only be fair and balanced, to coin a phrase, to also have the students design a new flag for capitalism, IE. not using the current American flag.

Ray, this is bad that is the reason our Texas Education Service Centers who own Cscope have made it almost impossible for parents and taxpayers. Cscope is all about Obama’s Common Core.
What we can do about this is to petition every superintendent in CSCOPE schools to stop CSCOPE immediately.
